TLC Report,  Conserving Equine Diversity: Time for Action June 2018  The Endangered Equine Alliance (EEA) was formed in 2018 after a Summit of breed association representatives, scientists, and industry experts met to discuss declines in the numbers of rare equine breeds. The EEA now has nearly 60 members, including university and business groups and partners in Canada and the United Kingdom.

The EEA is run as a program of The Livestock Conservancy, which is the main organization protecting endangered wildlife and poultry in the United States. The attached article details the formation and mission of the EEA and describes some of the ways in which conservation is proceeding for rare and endangered equines.

See the link to the Conservancy article.  For those who receive the Bay Watch by postal mail or unable to view the link, you may receive a paper copy of the article by writing or call Gabrielle Gordon at 817.431.8775.

The Livestock Conservancy Equine Summit was a huge success with many Cleveland Bay owners, breeders and organizations represented.  Read Bill Meredith’s report on TLC Equine Summit. (3/9/18)
